Roger Hertog is co-Chairman of the Jewish leadership Conference, President of the Hertog Foundation, and Chairman of the Tikvah Fund. Co-founding partner of the Sanford C. Bernstein, &co. investment and management firm, which he joined in 1968. Served as President of the company before it merged with Alliance Capital Management in 2000. In 2006, he retired from the merged AllianceBernstein. He is presently emeritus vice chairman. A graduate of City College in New York, Hertog served in the past as Chairman of the Jewish Historical Society in New York and the Manhattan Institute. He also served on the board of directors of the American Enterprise Institute, the New York Philharmonic, the New York Public Library, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. In 2007, he won an award from the National Endowment for the Humanities for his philanthropic efforts. In 2010, he won the William Simon Award for philanthropic leadership.
