Ruth Wisse is emeritus professor of Yiddish literature and comparative literature at Harvard, and presently a senior fellow at the Tikvah Fund. Her works on the subject of literature include an edition of the fictional memoirs of Jacob Glatstein entitled The Glatstein Chronicles (2010), The Modern Jewish Canon: A Journey Through Literature and Culture, and A Little Love in Big Manhattan (1992). She has also published two political works: IF I am Not for Myself: The Liberal Betrayal of the Jews and Jews and Power. Her last book No Joke: Making Jewish Humor, part of the Tikvah Fund’s Library of Jewish Ideas, was published by Princeton University. She is a member of the academic advisory committee of the Tikvah Fund’s Argaman Institute.
