Mike Pompeo served as 70th Secretary of State of the United States, under the Trump government of 2018-2019, after finishing his time as Director of the CIA in 2017-2018. Pompeo is a retired U.S. Army officer, serving in the House of Representatives in 2011-2017 for the state of Kansas. There he served on the House Intelligence Committee, Energy Committee, and the Special Committee on Benghazi.
Before serving in Congress, he founded Thayer Aerospace and later joined the board of Sentry International, a company focused on oil production. Pompeo finished officers course with excellence in 1986 and served as a cavalry officer patrolling the Iron Curtain before the fall of the Berlin Wall. After finishing his military service, he graduated Harvard Law school, where he edited the Harvard Law Review. Married to Susan Pompeo, with one child.
